International Desserts

The following desserts are a nod to my heritage and made in memory of my Nana.  The Cannoli I make is based of what she taught me to make.

Italian Inspiration

Biscotti:
A twice-baked Italian biscuit, oblong shaped. Its dry and crunchy, so dipping into a liquid is ideal

snowballs

Cannoli:
A family recipe of ricotta cheese, chocolate chips, and nuts topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.  Makes a nice Cake too!

Panna Cotta:
A sweetened cream thickened with gelatin and molded.  Other flavors of gelatin can be added to balance its creaminess.

Pizzelle:
Traditional Italian waffle cookies, lightly sweetened and flavored with vanilla or anise.

Savoiardi aka Ladyfingers:
A sponge like cookie that can soak up syrups or liqueurs, also can be dusted with confectioners' sugar and eaten

Spumoni:
Traditionally made with ice cream this Italian favorite is made with pudding instead or as a cake.

Tiramisu-  Parfait / Cheesecake:
Layers of coffee soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese mixture topped with whipped cream and cocoa powder or grated chocolate

Wedding Cookies aka Snowballs
Melt in your mouth cookies that are loaded with walnuts and hazelnuts then coated in powder sugar like a snowballs.

British Invasion

The following desserts are inspired while working with a follower's custard recipe.  Other British desserts come from me watching the Great British Bake Off and learning from that.

cherished recipe from a long time follower's Mum.  I use this Custard recipe throughout my desserts and especially as the base for my Fruit Tarts.
